What does it mean to love your city? This blog is intended to challenge and encourage people to have a true love for their city. A love that not merely rolls off the lips of immobilized units but a love that bursts forth passionately from the tongues of dancing servants.

Why desire marriage?

Being a single man, I have been thinking about relationships lately.  I have always desired to find a wife and have a family but recently I have been questioning my motives for wanting a wife.  Some reasons that I acknowledge for the desire have included such things as having someone to love romantically and have them love me, to provide some relief from physical lust, and the overall companionship that accompanies such a relationship.

As I was thinking about this God began to change my heart in terms of motivation.  All of the reasons I mentioned are good things but the primary reason I desire to have a wife and family is to show, as an example, the relationship between Christ and the church. I want to be a husband so that I can love my wife as Christ loves the church and as the head of the relationship represent Christ as He is head of the church.  Our culture has such a misrepresented view of what marriage is that we really do need people to step up and show what a marriage is supposed to look like, and what it represents.
